N4 to PT Via Pro Convert! 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
Hello,

I've read a number of threads going back a few years explaining the process for prepping a Nuendo session for Pro Tools via SSL Pro Convert, but I'm having a hard time making this happen. It's been a while since I last posted on the forum, so long that I had to re-register. All of my time is spent on location working on set for TV & Film either mixing, booming, or cabling, so my Nuendo chops have severely dwindled over the years; please bear with me.

I just ran a session last night on set of a film that called for a separate Pro Tools music recording alongside the dialogue recording of the 1st unit sound mixer. We had a group of singers and dancers performing live during a scene containing dialogue. I ran Nuendo 4 on my MacBook Pro via a Yamaha 01V96 v2 with mLan. I Striped the 1st unit mixer's SMPTE Timecode into Nuendo via midi timecode for post sync purposes and all went well; Nuendo Lock synced and each take jumped to proper timecode along the timeline when recorded.

I Edit-renamed all the files by Scene, Take, etc., in the project window (not the Pool). I now have to (According to a thread written by Steve Tushar) :

1. Prepare archive
2. Convert all files to the same bitrate
3. Convert all files to WAV or BWAV
4. Edit-Rename all files in the pool using "Remove ALL-non alpha numeric chars."
5. Consolidate any cluster of events that have many clips with different clip volumes joined by X-fades

I'm having trouble performing the steps on the above list. If anyone can guide me through it would be appreciated. From there I guess it's a straight forward process in Pro Convert.

I try to make time to work on my Nuendo system to keep up to speed, but it's difficult. Having this forum is a treasure for the very few opportunities I have running Nuendo. Thank you in advance,

E. Santiago

Hey!
All these steps are in the Pool minus the last one.
Open the Pool Window and select all the files and right click them to see these options in the list.

Are you not seeing them?
