RAD Tools issue 4 Years, 5 Months ago
hi all,

it seems RAD Tools creates invalid AVI files when they reach beyond 2GB.
i have the latest version 1.8i
i have always used it to convert QT->AVI but so far only with under 2GB files.
the QTs i get from this video editor (DV-PAL) never play fine in Nuendo and make the audio skip.
plus i need QT Alt and DirectShow for my TV.

anybody knows of a solution?
i have this 45 minutes documentary, i don't want to spilt-convert the video into segments of under 2 GB (that would mean about 5 segments).

many thanks,

You probably dnt wanna go back to the video editor to ask for another render, but if you can, perhaps a qt with some compression like sorenson will do the trick?

Try AVI with Indeo 5.2 codec. Should knock it down in size and still make for a very low CPU hit on playback.

AVI with Indeo 5.10 is what i tried.
Indeo 5.20 is not option when in RAD Tools, i don't know why; i've got the full k-lite codec pack installed though.

i need to make do with videofile greater than 2 GB tough.
but this QT (DV-PAL) is making Nuendo audio skip.
i have some QT (with Sorenson 3 codec) that play well with QT Alt.

i guess i'll have to experiment a bit with what videofile/codec and with which Nuendo configuration works.

It takes some time to find but you can dowload Indeo for free from a few sites.

Hi Fabrice,

That sucks. Which formats did you try? Maybe you could get a trial of quicktime pro?

I ended up just buying 5.2 since the other sites that used to host the free codec don't seem to be there anymore.
It's a worthy purchase since I use it lots.
